Public Works Foreman

The Town of Marshall is immediately seeking a Full-Time Public Works Foreman. This is both a management and working position. Some on-call and after hours work is required. Successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the overall operations of the Public Works Department, including, but not limited to infrastructure, municipal buildings, equipment, budget preparation, monthly reporting and asset management. Professionalism, time management and leadership skills are required. Must possess a valid driver’s license, and provide a driver’s abstract. Experience with carpentry and mechanical repair is an asset. Proven leadership, management and computer skills are essential. Effective communication skills and work as a team player are essential qualities. Must be able to work with minimal supervision possess organizational and time management skills, as well as interact with the public in a professional manner. Fireworks

Please note fireworks are allowed within the municipality. However, permission must be approved by Town Council. Once approval is received, a permit will be issued. There is no cost for this permit. Any individual caught setting off fireworks, without a permit, could be fined up to $3,000.00. Please review Bylaw 03-2019 on the website.

SAMAView Information

SAMA has launched their updated SAMAView services. SAMAView is a tool that allows the general public access to individual property assessments for all SAMA client jurisdictions.

A rebuild of SAMAView will increase speed and performance and allow for a more user-friendly interface. It will also provide SAMA the ability to potentially offer additional services, particularly with respect to commercial customers and increased GIS capabilities.

SAMAView will continue to be a resources tool for property owners to:

  • Verify their property assessment information;

  • Compare their assessment to similar or neighbouring properties; and,

  • Get a general idea of assessed values in their municipality.

The new SAMAView application will offer:

  • A mobile-friendly interface;

  • Better search capabilities; and,

  • Geolocation services;

  • Online payment processing;

  • Secure access - personalized dashboard and favourites

  • Access to prior year assessment information

  • Access to additional property details available for purchase

  • Improved quality of SAMAView data; and,

  • The potential to add more imagery for different customer groups in the future.

The updated system will work on an account and credit system. The updated SAMAView application is being developed inside of the MySAMA framework, because of this all users will be required to self-register for an account to use SAMAView.
